We’ll send you a bill for your business rates in March each year for the financial year ahead (1 April to 31 March). Please contact us if you don’t receive your bill.
You can pay your bill:
- by Direct Debit
- online by credit or debit card
- over the phone
- by setting up a standing order with your bank
You need your business rates account number to make a payment online or over the phone. This is so your payment is allocated to the correct account. You can find your account number on your bill.
Your bill will tell you how much to pay and the dates you should pay your instalments. If you don't pay exactly as requested, we may send you a reminder and take further recovery action against you.
In some circumstances you may be able to apply for a reduction or exemption to reduce your bill.
Paying by Direct Debit
Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay your bill. You can choose whether to pay your bill on the 5th, 12th, 18th or 25th of each month. You can also choose whether to pay over 10 or 12 instalments.
You can set up a Direct Debit in My Bentax.
