If you're arranging a cremation you're welcome to visit our office. You can also spend some time in our Garden of Remembrance or see the chapel.
Use of our chapel is included in the price of the cremation; extra time can be purchased in advance. Please see our price list of charges for cremations, memorials and urns.
The Garden of Remembrance
The Garden of Remembrance at the crematorium is a memorial to all who have been cremated here. Or whose ashes have been returned for strewing or interring from other areas outside of Barnsley.
Over the years it's matured into beautiful gardens, with rose beds, shrubs and trees. It offers peace and comfort and a place for you to sit quietly with your thoughts.
Throughout the garden areas of lawn have been set aside for the scattering and interring of ashes.
We keep records of where ashes have been scattered or interred. This is so that members of the same family can have their remains next to a loved ones.
Our Gardens of Remembrance are open every day for you to visit. You can choose where to locate a memorial or see where we can scatter or inter cremated remains.
The Flower Room and Book of Remembrance
The Book of Remembrance is on display every day in the Flower Room, close to the chapel.
Find out more about memorials at the crematorium. Including how to purchase an entry into the Book of Remembrance, as well as other lasting memorials.
We provide rows of flower vases for visitors to use for free. To make space for future visitors we remove flowers after seven days.
