The Cooper Gallery, Barnsley South Yorkshire, has launched a new interactive digital guide on Bloomberg Connects, the free arts and cultural app created by Bloomberg Philanthropies.
The Bloomberg Connects app, available for download from Google Play or the App Store, makes the gallery and its outstanding collections accessible through photographs, film, and audio experiences.
It offers a unique and immersive insight into the amazing array of artwork that makes up the gallery's collections, as well as offering details on upcoming exhibitions, events, and activities. It’s a fantastic and accessible way to learn more about the Gallery and its history. By using the App people will have access to audio guides, Makaton videos and other accessible content.
Cllr Robin Franklin, Cabinet Spokesperson for Regeneration and Culture, said: “This online tour made possible by Bloomberg Connects is a wonderful way for people to explore our collections online. The story of the Cooper Gallery and how its collection was accumulated, and later donated to the people of Barnsley, is a fascinating one. The fact that the town's artwork will be showcased in this way is incredible and another way we are sharing Barnsley’s cultural offer with the world.”
Bloomberg Connects makes it easy to access and engage with arts and culture from mobile devices when visiting in person, or anytime from anywhere. With dynamic content exclusive to each partner organization, the app provides a range of features including video, audio, and text; expert commentary; and way-finding maps.
