Royston Glass has been awarded the Bronze Award for Workplace Wellbeing by Barnsley Council. The award recognises the company's efforts to promote and support the physical and mental health of its staff.
With a new Workplace Health Champion, the employees at the company that specialises in bespoke glass splashbacks and worktops, has benefited from various wellbeing initiatives.
Through the Be Well @ Work programme, our Workplace Health Officers helped the company to explore what would make a difference to the people that work there. A key takeaway from the employee survey, was the importance of having flexible family-friendly policies for the business.
Gary Greatorex, Director of Royston Glass, said: “We have always put the employee's wellbeing at the heart of our business. We believe they are an integral part of our success now, and in the future. Our Workplace Health Champion, Sara Tipple, has been working closely with the Royston Glass team, covering campaigns such as alcohol awareness, healthy eating and mental health. Barnsley Council’s Be Well @ Work team have been very helpful throughout the process. They are continuing to show support as we now work towards the Silver Award.”
Councillor Robin Franklin, Cabinet Spokesperson for Regeneration and Culture, said: “It was fantastic to visit Royston Glass to see the impact of their new health and wellbeing support. It’s so important that employees feel happy, healthy, and supported at work. That is key to a thriving business. Congratulations on achieving the award.”
