A Royston woman has been arrested and prosecuted for fly-tipping.

On 15 July 2023, our neighbourhood wardens investigated a report of fly-tipping in an alleyway on Milgate Street in Barnsley and found a quantity of household waste.

Enquiries led to Zoe Milner of Milgate Street being identified as the owner.

Having failed to attend earlier hearings, a warrant of arrest was issued and on 22 April 2024. Milner was arrested and put before the court, at which time she entered a plea of guilty to the offence of fly tipping under Section 33 of the Environmental protection act 1990.

As a result, she was fined and ordered to pay a victim surcharge.

“With the help and support of the wider public, we will identify and prosecute offenders, which can be seen in this case.
