Barnsley's residents are invited to give their views on crime and anti-social behaviour in the borough, in a statutory annual survey created by the Safer Barnsley Partnership.
The Safer Barnsley Partnership is a joint partnership between Barnsley Council, South Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Probation Service, South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, Berneslai Homes, Neighbourhood Watch, South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority and the South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit.
Together we are working with housing associations, local businesses, and voluntary organisations and communities to address a shared vision for Barnsley to be a safe place, where people can contribute to community life, and take responsibility for their actions.
Through the survey, the partnership hopes to understand the public’s view of crime and anti-social behaviour in the borough. The consultation is launched each year, and this information will be used to plan the next set of priorities that the partnership will focus on in 2025-26.
Councillor Wendy Cain, Cabinet Spokesperson for Public Health and Communities, said: “I would highly encourage everyone to take part in this survey and have their say.
“The information given helps the partnership to see the full picture of what residents are experiencing and help them to build resources and plans that tackle local issues, helping to build a better Barnsley.”
Residents can have their say online.
Any residents who don’t have access to the internet can visit their local library where they can access the online survey.
The survey can be completed before midnight on Monday 30 September 2024.
