Love Parks Week kicks off across Barnsley

Parks and green spaces across Barnsley will be celebrated as part of Love Parks Week 2024.

The national campaign, run by Keep Britain Tidy, will take place from Friday 26 July to Sunday 4 August. The week brings together green space managers, landowners, residents, and community organisations to celebrate and support our fantastic green spaces all across the country.

A number of parks across the borough will be holding events as part of the campaign, with the full list of events below. Residents can make the most of all of our parks and green spaces, from Ardsley to Worsbrough, during the week and beyond.

Cllr James Higginbottom, Cabinet Spokesperson for Environment and Highways, said:

“We are blessed to have so many wonderful parks and green spaces across Barnsley and Love Parks Week gives us the perfect opportunity to celebrate them.

“Our parks play a crucial role in protecting our environment by providing natural habitats for wildlife and open spaces where people can relax, socialise and exercise to help improve their wellbeing.

“I’d encourage everyone to visit their local parks and green spaces on their doorstep, not just over Love Parks Week but throughout the summer.”
