Childcare choices – reminder to parents with a child aged 9 months and over

Working parents with a child who is 9 months and over by 31 August are reminded that further childcare support will be available by September, and to apply by Saturday 31 August if they are eligible.

This is part of the second phase of the 15 free hours of childcare being offered to eligible working parents in England. Read further information about these changes in the government blog.

Councillor Trevor Cave, Cabinet Spokesperson for Children’s Services, said: “We want to make sure everyone in our communities has access to the support they’re rightfully entitled to.

“The additional 15 hours of free childcare will help to take the pressure of families looking to return to work, whilst balancing the cost of childcare alongside their income.

“Lots of working parents will be eligible for this offer, and I would urge them to visit the Childcare Choices website and fill out the questionnaire to find out what’s available.”
