He has now been fined £200 with an £80 victim surcharge and a further £446 to be paid in costs. Mr Wood will now pay a total of £726 at a rate of £20 a month.
Anna Hartley, Executive Director for Public Health and Communities said: “Fly-tipping is a blight on our communities and we will prosecute offenders to the full extent of the law.
“I’d like to thank all of the staff involved in this case, from the crew who cleared the fly-tipped waste all the way through to the litigation team and Safer Communities team who pursued the case through to prosecution.
“In this case the perpetrator admitted dumping the waste. While the vast majority of residents would never consider dumping waste illegally in this way, it's important to remember you can be guilty of fly-tipping even if someone else dumps waste on your behalf.
"It is vital that when paying someone else to dispose of your waste, you make sure the waste carrier is fully licensed and you check their credentials."
If you witness fly-tipping or think someone may be dumping waste illegally, please report this on our website.
