RampUp cycle and scooter sessions
RampUp is returning for 2025 and will be travelling around the borough this Easter half-term with free and fun events for children and young people.
RampUp sessions are informal and relaxed, and are a great way to inspire children and young people to cycle and scoot more. All sessions are free, with bikes, scooters and helmets provided for those taking part.
The sessions are delivered by Barnsley Council's Sport and Physical Activity team, and have been incredibly successful with more than 4000 participants taking part across 119 events in schools and communities in 2024.
Barnsley Bike Works will be at selected sessions and can advise on maintenance tips and how to look after your bike. This service is available to everyone, so parents and carers can also bring their bikes along to make sure their wheels keep rolling as we head into the spring. The Bike Works team will also be taking in any bike donations as part of the Barnsley Big Bike Recycle project.
