Events in town centre
Sunday 10 November 2024
This year's Remembrance Sunday service and parade will take place on Sunday 10 November 2024. It'll take place in front of the War Memorial at Barnsley Town Hall. People are advised to arrive from 10am onwards with the official proceedings set to begin at 11am.
Monday 11 November 2024
The Mayor of Barnsley will be observing a one-minute silence in front of the War Memorial at Barnsley Town Hall from 11am. This will be followed by a short service which will include students from local schools, college and nurseries reading poems, and laying wreaths and artwork.
Representative organisations
We’ve received a number of requests from representatives of our armed forces community to lay wreaths alongside the Mayor. The applications close on Wednesday 6 November 2024. If you haven’t requested it, you can still lay a wreath at the end of the service.
