Healthier Futures Barnsley
About the accreditation
The accreditation will support you to improve the health and wellbeing of the children and families you work with.
To support you, you'll have access to a online platform where you can upload your evidence. You'll be able to use this for Ofsted inspections, consultations with parents and other key review meetings. Your assessment will be done by our Public Health team, and we'll send you feedback via the platform and email. This approach allows us to give you one to one support.
The accreditation is free and is valid for three years.
Criteria
There are four key parts to the accreditation. Each has the same five criteria that need to be met.
Elements
- Emotional health and wellbeing
- Food, drink and oral health
- Personal, social health education (PSHE)
- Physical activity
Criteria for each element
- CPD and training
- Environment
- Partnerships
- Policy
- Teaching and learning
The criteria allows you to provide your evidence in a way that suits you. There's no 'one size fits all' approach. Plus, you'll have support from us throughout when needed.
The criteria has been developed by the Healthy Learning Healthy Lives team at Doncaster Council. It's also been evaluated by Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust. This has ensured it's a high quality and robust framework.
