Parks and open spaces

Wherever you are in Barnsley, there's sure to be a park, play area, or other open space nearby. There's also a range of outdoor recreation facilities across the borough, such as bowling greens, tennis courts, BMX tracks, and football pitches you can hire.

With almost 450 miles of public rights of way, footpaths, bridleways and byways, there's plenty of places for walkers, horse riders and cyclists alike. For those who are green fingered, we also have over 60 sites where you can rent an allotment.
