Barnsley Safeguarding Children Partnership agree how services and agencies work together. Making sure they safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in the borough.

Local Authority Designated Officer

Safeguarding partnerships have a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to investigate any allegations against people working with children and young people.

Barnsley Safeguarding Children Partnership

The partnership has a duty for bringing local services together.  This is to plan and agree how best to keep children and young people in the area safe.

The partnership develops shared policies and plans to protect vulnerable children. Their role is to make sure all children are well cared for and able to reach their full potential. They also provide support and training for people who work with children and young people, to make sure that they're fully aware of their safeguarding responsibilities.

Early help for families

Early help is the support we give to children, young people and families to prevent their needs becoming greater over time. It's delivered through targeted help, family hubs and other community services.
