What else can we offer?
Theme days
We offer a minimum of 6 theme days per year. There is also the option to purchase additional theme days to enhance your curriculum. Theme days are a great way for children to get involved. They can celebrate key festivals, learn about different cultures, and make what they learn in the classroom come to life in the dining room.
Cookery and nutrition workshops
We offer hands-on cookery and nutrition workshops to schools, free of charge. These cover everything from making pasta from scratch, to growing our own food. They are a way for pupils to learn new skills and knowledge around food and healthy eating. We often send pupils with something to take home, encouraging them to talk to their parents about what they’ve learnt.
Stalls at parents evenings and events
We know that when it comes to ordering school meals, parents hold the purse strings. Our presence at these events lets parents try different dishes and chat to us about the benefits of school meals. They can also learn more about our flexible approach to ordering their child’s meals.
Breakfast clubs
We offer breakfast clubs in school to start children’s days in the best way.
School trips
We provide packed lunches for school trips, allowing pupils to enjoy nutritious food even when not in school.
Eat them to defeat them
We encourage all our schools to partner with us for ‘Eat Them to Defeat Them’. This is a national campaign encouraging children to eat more vegetables. Last year Eat Them to Defeat them increased vegetables sales in the UK by 517 million pounds. In school, pupils are encouraged to try the ‘vegetable of the week’. They can also enjoy daily vegetable tasters and displays, and even get a chance to meet our special veggie mascots.
National school meals week
LACA’s National School Meals Week aims to inspire children to eat school meals. Each day we cook a themed meal, accompanied with educational resources and promotion around the benefits of eating school meals.
